Woolford, Billie Marietta September 20, 1937 - March 28, 2013

Billie Marietta Dunham was born in Oakland, California September 20, 1937 to William Richard and Elva Marietta Dunham. Billie had two sisters, Francis Wilkerson Miller who preceded her in death and Catherine Dunham Johnson who resides in Osceola, Missouri. Billie was united in marriage to Gerald G. Woolford in September 1955 and to this union four children were born. Marla J. Brown of Harrisonville, Missouri., Richard Kevin Woolford of Peculiar, Missouri., Gerald G. Woolford of Pleasant Hill, Missouri., and Tamara A. Woolford of Kansas City, Missouri. Billie worked for the Internal Revenue Service for many years in Kansas City and later became a successful real estate agent working for United Farm Real Estate. She later worked for Coffelt Land Title and Stewart Land Title in Harrisonville. Billie attended grade school and two years of high school in Roscoe, Mo. She completed her last two high school years in Osceola as the Roscoe school no longer taught high school classes. In her later years, Billie enjoyed attending the high school reunions and catching up with her former peers. Fishing, mushroom hunting, sewing, cooking and cross stitching were all hobbies of Billie’s and she enjoyed a good garage sale or flea market the most. If it was a “good deal” it didn’t matter if she needed or even wanted it…she had to have it. Billie also was one of the few people who could grow orchids. She delighted in teasing her sister about her “black” thumb. Unfortunately, the last few years of Billie’s life were dictated by her illnesses and she spent a great deal of time in and out of rehabilitation facilities. However, she remained determined and focused on getting better continuing to cross stitch baby blankets and making elaborate pillows for others. Billie made many friends throughout her life and had a special friend, Roberta, with whom she spent many happy hours. Besides those children listed above Billie left behind six grandchildren, Lauren Arnet of Chicago, Illinois, Kendra, Gerald, and Amber Woolford of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Caitlyn Woolford of Sedalia, Missouri, William Woolford of Pleasant Hill Missouri, Scott Brown of Lamar, Mo, Andrea Brown, of Harrisonville, Missouri; a great-granddaughter Taliya of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and Kaiya Kim Smith of Harrisonville, Missouri. Two grandsons, Jared Daniel and William Clayton Gray preceded her in death. She also left nieces and nephews who benefited from her sense of humor and fun loving attitude and will deeply miss her.
