Margaret Ann (Dodson) Wright was born on September 26, 1934 to John and Zola Weller Dodson. She passed away April 19, 2019 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
She lived with her parents on a farm near Chalk Level. In her young childhood they attended church at Concord Baptist church. They would go to church across the pasture in a spring wagon and a team of horses.
In November 1948 she was saved in a revival meeting held by Rev. Ed Elliott and Rev. Amos Jackson. She was baptized in the Osage River east of Lowry City. Margaret attended grade school at Pleasant Valley School and graduated from Lowry City High School in 1951.
On December 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to her grade school and high school sweetheart Frank Wright in Harrison, Arkansas. They made their home in Lowry City. To this union two children were born, Carolyn Ann and John Franklin.
Margaret was a homemaker when her children were young. Later she worked as a waitress and cook at Hart’s Café. She worked for many years as a cook at Lowry City School and then Lakeland School. For a few years she worked as a proof reader for the Osceola newspaper.
Margaret enjoyed when the entire family came to visit and having a houseful for the weekend and preparing the big meals and special treats for everyone. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and her puzzle books.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Zola Dodson, husband Frank, daughter Carolyn Wood, sister Nancy Chandler, and bother-in-law Raymond Chandler.
She is survived by her son John Wright and wife Donna, Archie, MO. Granddaughter Amanda Johnson and husband Gary, of Clinton, MO. Grandson Curtis Gregory and wife Mandy, of Raymore, MO. Grandson Michael Wright of Drexel, MO. Granddaughter Melissa Tomlinson and husband Jayson of Archie, MO. Step-Granddaughter Melody Zeiler and husband Mike of Pleasant Hill, MO. Four Great-Granddaughters, Chloe Wright, Emma Tomlinson, Lucy Gregory, and Sadie Gregory and five Great-Grandsons Chase Wright, Caleb Wright, Brayden Gregory, Tyler Johnson and Seth Tomlinson.
