Frieda Louise (Snyder) Clark was born July 5, 1944, the oldest of five children to Frank and Louise Snyder in Gurkfeld, Gotschee (former Yugoslavia, present day Kocevje, Slovenia). As a refugee of WWII, she spent her first years of life in Schloss Lind and Maria Saal, Austria. In 1952, her family emigrated to Kansas City, Kansas, following previous relatives and residents of Gotschee, from which they originated.
She attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Bishop Ward High School. She graduated from St. Mary’s College in Leavenworth, Kansas with a degree in Nursing. A lifelong learner, she also received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Kansas in 1988. During her 40+ year career, she treated and helped thousands of patients and nurses not only bedside but taught, counseled and managed at numerous hospitals. She spent a significant number of years with the MidWest Neurosurgery, working with Doctors Schoolman, Kaufman and Morantz.
Frieda married Donald J. Hudson in 1964 and to this union four children were born, Maria, Sherry, Donald Jr., and Stephanie.
On June 27, 1997 Frieda married Terrel J. (Terry) Clark, from Rich Hill, Missouri beginning a new life of love and companionship they traveled extensively around the world. In 2008, a lifelong dream was achieved. Frieda and Terry became residents of Villach, Austria.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Louise Snyder,father-in-law, Forrest C. “Toppy” Clark, Donald J. Hudson; daughter Sherry and great-grandson Beau Adcox.
Frieda leaves her husband, Terry, Her children Maria and husband Randal Griffiths, Donald and wife Stacie Hudson, Stephanie and husband Steven Lyon; siblings, Trudy and husband Larry Moffitt, Mary and husband Mark Lee, Herb and wife Heidi Snyder, Linda and husband Alan Jones; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
