Hardy, Greg A. July 17, 1961 - April 25, 2024

Greg was called home to his loving Father in Heaven on September 23, 2013. He was born July 17, 1961 in Kansas City, MO, and grew up both in Kansas City with his parents and Walker, MO, where he lived with his grandparents O.L. and Elnora Wallace.

Greg spent many years working as a welder and was often referred to by those that knew him, as “the best welder in this area”. It was very common for farmers to call him at any time day or night to go out and fix the machines in the field during harvest. He enjoyed building race cars and pulling tractors and was even involved with the Budweiser Boss Racing for some time with his friend Gary. He loved to go fishing and being in the outdoors, it was always neat to listen to him talk about his camping trips with his friends.

He liked to dance and host parties with lots of food, so in his early years he and his wife, Darla, at the time had a restaurant and dance hall in Walker. To that marriage was a blessing of four beautiful children Dannielle, Suzanne, Jessica, and Ashley Hardy. He always looked forward to going to visit his family during the holidays and would often be ready to go a week before and then forget the day of.

In 1998 he married Vannessa, and in that fifteen year marriage he fathered two children, Alyssa and Tommie Hardy and helped raise Shelyna and Claudia Bishop. He helped build cabinets with her family’s business Blystone Cabinets and started a new love for crafting with wood and began building and creating scrolled clocks and pictures. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader with his son and put his wood working and car building skills to use when the annual derby came along. He was a gentle man that would break out singing in an off cord or stop and cut flowers on the side of the road just to make someone smile. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his grandfather O.L Wallace and is survived by his parents Linda and Harry Hardy of Kansas City; Sisters Lana Popejoy and husband Dee of Lake of Ozarks, Caron DeFries and husband Steve; Children Dannielle Hardy McWilliams, Suzanne Prough and husband Greg, Jessica Hardy, Ashley Hardy, Alyssa Hardy, and Tommie Hardy; Step-children Shelyna Bishop and Claudia Bishop; Grandchildren Baelynn Prough and Saischa Bishop.
> Greg always referred to Faith Baptist Church in Walker, MO, as his home church. He attended other churches over the years, had a personal connection to God, and was not afraid to give a hug to anyone that he could see was hurting while telling them “Luv ya brother”.
