John Drake, 76, of Osceola, Missouri, passed away on April 23, 2026, after a long and brave battle with cancer.
John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was rooted in hard work, simple pleasures, and deep love for his family. He spent many years working as a mechanic, a trade he took great pride in, always willing to lend his skills and help other whenever they needed it.
He found joy in the quiet beauty of country living, whether watching trains pass by, casting a line out while fishing, or simply spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to music, hobbies that brought him comfort and happiness throughout his life. Those who knew John will remember him as a good friend with a big heart—someone who was always there with a helping hand, a kind word, a good joke or a story to share.
Above all, John’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless pride and happiness to his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Glenda; his daughters, Shelly and Sherri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
John’s legacy is one of kindness, strength, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
