Michele L. Slone, age 46 of Springfield. MO passed away Tuesday June 17 at home after a long and courageous battle with lupus. Michele was born in St. Joseph, MO, November 22, 1967, the daughter of Melva L. Morrison (Fogle) and the late Dr. Nolen B. Morrison.
She graduated high school with honors and was accepted to Harvard University. Her educational life was put on hold upon learning she was to have her first son, Andrew. She became a full time mother and later added two more children, Ashley and Zach, to the family. Michele loved being a mother and favorite Aunt to her two nieces, April Morrison and Taylor Morrison and nephew Brice Morrison. She was an accomplished artist, painter, and cook and loved to sing along with her favorite musical artist, Michael Bolton. She juggled being a mother while working and co-owning Benefits Inc. Insurance Agency. In Springfield, MO. Her life took a turn when she was diagnosed with systemic lupus in 1995. Michele courageously battled her disease and always found a way to brighten up someone elses’ day, while at the same time covering up her own pain and complications.
Michele accepted Christ and was baptized years ago and was a member of the Church of Christ. She often talked of going to heaven and seeing Jesus and being reunited with her father. Michele’s positive outlook on life, her beautiful smile , and contagious laugh will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nolen B. Morrison and her step father, Jerry Fogle.
Michele is survived by her sons, Andrew and Zach Slone, her daughter Ashley Slone, her mother Melva L. Fogle (Morrison) , brother Dan Morrison and wife June, her brother Brad Morrison , her special friend Frank Davidson and her special dog Chi-Chi . She was also known as “ Grammie” to her three grandchildren, Cameron, Jason, and Maddie.
