Raymond Richard Timmerman of rural Collins, Missouri was born January 23, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank and Elsie (Bible) Timmerman. Ray went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Friday morning on August 14, 2015 at the age of 76.
In his teenage years he lived in California with his older brother, William, where he completed his high school education. He worked with his brother in the janitorial business until he entered the military.
Ray enlisted in the United States Army on February 2, 1958 and was discharged April 4, 1961 while in the Army he was stationed in France and Germany. While in France, he met the love of his life, Eugenie (Jane). They were married by a justice of the peace and both returned to the United States to live.
He started his own janitorial business after re-locating to the Los Angeles, California area. After a successful career, he later started a long haul trucking business and worked as a security guard for Boeing.
Ray enjoyed the many outdoor opportunities of living in Southern California. He enjoyed camping, fishing and boating near the many lakes in the area. His greatest love was ocean fishing off the California coast and later in Baja, Mexico. Ray and Jane loved ballroom dancing and traveling to many locations on cruise ships around the world. He and Jane later relocated to the family farm in Collins, Missouri. He and Jane faithfully attended Osceola First Assembly of God Church were he served in anyway he could.
He was preceded in death by their only child, Raymond Richard II; his parents Frank and Elsie; 2 brothers, William and Frank, Jr. and 1 sister, Marcheta.
Ray is survived by his wife, of the home; brother, Bob and his wife Jackie of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Ann Adams of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families along with many friends.
