Roger Allen Vannattan, 61, of Montrose, Missouri, left the Lake Ridge Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri on his way to Heaven, March 9, 2011. He was born August 28, 1949, in Clinton, Missouri the son of Johnnie Allen and Zelpha (Hamilton) Vannattan.
He was a longtime resident of Montrose, Missouri. He graduated in 1969 from Desoto High School in Desoto, Kansas.
On July 4, 1988, he married his sweetheart Lucille Pauline “Paula” Kirk at the North East Baptist Church in Clinton, Missouri.
Roger enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors, and was often found walking his favorite trail to Montrose Lake where he loved to go fishing. He cherished his time with his wife and family; especially his grandchildren. Roger also enjoyed spending time with his canine companion and best friend “Copper”, and had even been known to sing songs to him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant daughter Katrina Carlene Vannattan. Surviving are his wife, Paula Vannattan, of the home; sons, Lonnie Vannattan and wife, Cherie, Archie, Missouri, Roger Allen Vannattan II, of the home, Travis Wayne McNeely, Butler, Missouri; and daughter, Trina Clay and husband, Matt, Clinton, Missouri; grandchildren, Dustin and Samantha Vannattan; Nick McNeely, Shona and Daphne Clay; Isabel, Memphis and Taylin McNeely, and Mason O’Bannon-McNeely; great grandchild, Brayden Isaac Liles; as well as many nephews, cousins, along with countless other family and friends.
Roger is being laid to rest overlooking his walking trail, near the Montrose Lake.
